Identification: BC Tree ID

    Location:
    Tiruvannamalai, INDIA, but I travel a lot!
    No 8. A tree on Hollyburn Mountain in Cypress Provincial Park, outside of Vancouver.

    Probably a Grand Fir Abies grandis, but pic is too small to rule out Pacific Silver Fir Abies amabilis.

    thanks Michael, I added another photo, closer view... Hope this helps. I was praying for someone like you to help me ID the beautiful trees I saw in the mountains outside Vancouver. I must admit, I had a couple of them wrong! Thanks so much...

    Foliage habit of Abies amabilis visible in both photos. Mountain I think is probably named for Nootka cypress growing there, not typical habitat for grand fir.

    Yep, can see Abies amabilis from 2nd photo.

    thank you Michael and Bob for the ID. Slowly learning to separate the BC tree species... Still a way to go though! Just getting into it.
