Appreciation: Bat facing extinction due to fungus may be classified as endangered

Federal officials Tuesday proposed designating the Northern long-eared bat, once common but ravaged by a deadly fungus known as white-nose syndrome, as an endangered species.

We see it (the bat with the fungus) here in northern New Mexico, USA, in abandoned mine caves.
