Hi, I am the gardener of the family but since I am newly widowed, I now have to take care of the lawn too. I need a simple plan for fertilizing, liming. Is once in the spring for both and once in the fall okay?
Also, I had a professional come and de-moss in the spring but I've been told at the local gardening centre that it can also be a losing battle and some people choose to leave it. What do you think?

I lime my lilac, hydrangea and lavender once a year too. Should I do twice a year?

And lastly, I have a gorgeous pink hydrangea that I lime to try and keep it pink but over the last few years, I've noticed it getting more purple. Should I lime more?? The mixture of purple and pink heads are gorgeous but I don't want the purple to take over.
    Thanks ahead for your advice.

Oh. one more question, can I spot seed some bare patches in the lawn or would it be better to sprinkle a bit of soil down first. Would this be a good time to repair those bare patches?
