I mentioned the idea of a balcony gardener's club last year and there was some interest. So I thought I might start a global one on facebook. Hopefully it may cast a wider net and we can find a larger group of people and start a face to face group in Vancouver.

Here's a photo of my fish pond on my balcony. I'll add more later.

Could you put a link to your Balcony Gardeners Club? I'm in Vancouver and would love to join.

I finally moved from an apartment with a north facing balcony to one with a south/west exposure. I've already started my tomatoes, peppers, green onions, lettuce and radishes indoors.

I can't find photos of my balcony garden but here's a photo that I took years ago, of a 'balcony' garden - outside of a houseboat at Granville Island. The need to garden is hard to ignore.

    Buenos Tardes,

What an interesting idea! I agree that the urge to garden is strong and takes much strength to ignore. It was immediate for me upon moving into my little place.

I can't quite recall, but I believe the plants were here before the furnishings.

Thank you for sharing your photos. Photos of my summer 2008 balcony to reciprocate!

    Con regard,

    Tomato

    Hi,
I moved into a NW facing apt. in New Westminster about a year ago, and would like to join your fb Balcony Gardeners Club, but the link above didn't work for me. Does this club still exist on fb?

Thank you very much, Wendy. I found other groups, but couldn't find this one.

We are lucky to have a big patio... north facing, west end of the building. Sun starts to come around in the early afternoon, full sun for the last couple hours of the day.

Pieris 'Forest Flame' and 'Flaming Silver'
    Hydrangea 'Two Tone'
    Acer p. Peaches & Cream
    Acer p. Amber Ghost
    Fargesia Jiu '2' bamboo
    Plus some other stuff!
