My Daughter swears by old outdated Birth Control pills as fertilizer for her Ficus. She mashes them up in water and waters the Ficus with it. The Ficus got so big we had to give it away to a nursing home with high ceilings. It rarely lost leaves or threw any kind of the usual fits Ficus are known for. What is in the BC pills that would be a seemingly perfect fertilizer (or tranquilizer) for a Ficus? Is it the hormones? Mainly - how or what can one use to replicate this method? Any ideas? barb
