Hello all, Interested in some advice for this plant: #5 Avocado we sprouted, interested in name and best way to take care of it.
Here is another picture, it is a bit larger but not as healthy looking anymore. I transplanted it into a new pot and was wondering what the issue was. Any help would be really appreciated; I can provide additional pics if it would help. (P.S. I watered after taking the picture.) Should I put it into the ground? What do I need to do...
Searching up some advice I found that I needed to clip the taller growth back to 3 inches. After doing that the smaller sprout started leafing out and the one I cut began growing new shoots. Seems to be healthy again. I've also been bringing it inside on hot days and keep the dirt dry rather than moist. Pic:
The tree is doing fine now. I've already repotted it once and the soil is fine. It has produced more leaves and they are both about the same height now. The new shoots in the last picture are larger, but it probably does need to be put into an even bigger pot now! This thread is pretty much inactive now, as I helped myself. Maybe if I am around I can keep it updated in the future.
Sure, here is a new one of the most recent growth (pulled the lower set of leaves off the one on the right the other day): When I re-pot it I will take a root shot. Also, feel free to post your own photos of avo sprouts!~ I have some more soaking in water and will perhaps add those when they grow a taproot, if anyone is interested in seeing my setup.
