In my Asparagus bed, I have several plants that produce numerous thin stalks only. I have been told to cull them. Is this true? Any other information you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Stockton, CA and surrounding area is a major producer of asparagus. The thin stalks were prized as Pencil Grass. My best advice is to contact University of Calif. @ Davis and their Master Gardener program. They are just N. of Stockton and in the thick of things so to speak. barb
