Identification: Are these also Russula sp.?

    Seen on Mayne Island.

    About 30 of these scattered on a patch of lawn.

    Cap: brown, 1 to 1 ½ inch

    Gills: brown, coarse, branched

    Hi David,
    These are likely Entoloma (or possibly Leptonia but Entoloma seems more likely given numbers/habitat).

    A new genus for me. Thank you.

    After some reading, I understand why the habitat is also useful for its ID.
