i have had an idea for an arbor to grow some of my plants up but was wondering if anyone knew if copper was detrimental to philodendron or pothos. i made a butiful arbor for grapes once from solderind copper pipes into a nice geometrcal pattern and thought of doing the same in my house but was curious if it would harm the plants. the grapes didn't mind but remembering my father hammering copper nails into some trees to kill them off years ago i wanted to see if anyone had any imputs first. mike
Hi Mike, Driving a nail into the innards of a plant isn't the same as a plant with it's outer 'skin' intact. Sure you can grow your pothos on a copper trellis or arbor. Sounds nice. If they are in a large pot you could make a obelisk. http://www.fultonsquare.com/Obolist/Obelists.jpg http://images-eu.amazon.com/images/P/B000288D0Y.02.PT01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg http://www.newtonforge.co.uk/images/Arches_etc/Rose_Obelisk_faded.jpg Newt
