Any ideas what acer this leaf comes from?

    It's a revert on an Osakazuki but has 8 lobes?

    @Mani, good morning Mani, now that looks strange one for a root stock. . But I think it is just a variation of Acer palmatum that has 5, 7 or 9 lobes. Seedlings can often throw up something a little different as we all know. That's how new varieties occur.

    Very interesting indeed, but they will have to be removed Mani.

    Good morning. I agree, it is quite an interesting leaf that will most likely have a great autumn colour. You could try removing carefully and propagating it. Use some rooting gel and see if it grows. I haven’t tried growing from cuttings but I’d definitely give that one a go.

    I just read thread your thread on propagation and can see you are already having a go at this with another maple. Fingers crossed for you.
