Hello! I'm new to the forum and am very excited! I have a question about my jasmine plant. It, along with many of my plants, is just covered with ants. They're the general garden variety. I've ordered a non-poison ant killer that uses cedar oil, but until it arrives I was going to sprinkle cheyenne pepper around the plant and wondered if it would harm the jasmine? Also, are the ants harmful to the jasmine or simply a nuisance to me? I plan to bring it in during the winter months and want to control the ants beforehand. Thanks so much!!
Could there be other pests present on your plants? Ants are known to farm aphids and scale for the honeydew they produce. If that's the case, apply treatment to get rid of them and the ants should go away.
I'm not sure, honestly. I haven't noticed an aphid problem on any of my plants, but I won't rule it out until I've checked. I'll do that tomorrow in the sunlight! Thanks!
