My husband took the following photo last month, September '04, in Ketchikan Alaska (think Prince Rupert, BC; cool and rainy, coastal, winters with little to no snow) - it is a cultivated plant in a large container by a hotel - about 6 to 12 inches tall, and possibly a permanent/perennial item, since it was the only plant in the pot, present as a carpet of the pictured rosettes.
