I’ve been really impressed with Black Lace. Mines in shade and still keeps it’s dark colour right through the summer months.
Hey, I bought a 'Black Lace' this year, and am presently drinking a glass of Black. Go figure. ;) I'm liking BL also, though the one I received the top is too big for the roots. Great leaf color and nice form I think.
Can anyone advise how sun tolerant Black Lace has been found to be? I think I’ve read in one of the threads it can get a bit frazzled in the hotter summer months. Any other feedback appreciated. Thanks! Dan
Mines in partial shade which seems to suit. No windburn is suffered and the colour is still rich and vibrant, despite the lack of direct sunlight. I know this is no help with tolerance to sun, but mine thrives.
Good morning Dan, mine is in full sun and suffers no problems at all. I think it is a very versatile maple. You are going to love it.
