Hi there, my chinese evergreen of 20 years is looking very sad. It is losing most of its leaves and there is little new growth. I thought perhaps it was shocked by the cold a few weeks ago when the front door opened. I moved it away from that spot and now that the weather is warm I returned it to where it has been happy for years. The plant is huge and I have never transplanted it. It sits in an 18in diameter pot. Water it or not water it? The soil is dry. What do I do?
    Thanks for your help

Lots of Chinese plants are evergreen. Can you post a photo to help find out what it is? That will help in knowing what growing conditions will be best.
