Acer x freemanii 'Autumn Blaze'

    I was so excited to see a Freeman Maple with a label. I took these photos of Acer x freemanii 'Autumn Blaze' today at VanDusen Botanical Garden. Freeman maples are a cross between Red Maple (A. rubrum) and Silver Maple (A. saccharinum).

    I have no idea how different this cultivar is from the straight hybrid. There has been some discussion of Freeman Maples in the Acer saccharinum thread.
