Acer takesimense, previously Acer pseudosieboldianum ssp. takesimense

    I have this tree, it's really beautiful. I planted it in zone 3 and waiting for spring. So far the buds look positive.

    @wcutler Could we change the name of this thread please? The maple went back to being called Acer takesimense some years ago. Could maybe include the current thread title parenthetically in order to avoid confusion. Thanks.

    Hi, it is not my tree, it is located at Westonbirt Arboretum. However, the tree is still there and seems to be doing well. Here are some pictures from May 2024:

    I do have a child of this plant growing, but I suspect it is hybridised due to the potluck aspect of arboretum seed.

    Thank you for the 2024 photo of this tree. It is stunning and so much taller now. The fall colour must be amazing.

    I had three from seed, gave one, I'm keeping the two left in case one dies.

    It's beautiful. I like the full moon shape. I am still waiting for spring in zone 3 Canada .
