I wanted to get this one on the forum as I think it deserves it. OK, i'ts not a tree that ever gets talked about here, but I believe it should be. So this is a seedling from a Acer Platanus x orientalus or known as Sycamore in the UK, I will post photos of the full size tree in weeks to come.
One of the largest maples, with specimens in its native central Europe recorded up to 40 metres tall and 9 metres girth. Extensively naturalised in northern Europe, including Britain, Ireland and southern Scandinavia, where it grows best in cool areas with good rainfall; it is one of very few trees which grows well in the Faroe Islands in the North Atlantic. Photo from Newcastle in northeast England PS I've corrected the title ;-)
On the 18th April 2023 I took a photo of this rather famous pseudoplatanus tree. I don't think I need to say where I was !!!?
