    One of my 'Shishigashira' that's in full shade putting on some very nice colors. It's has been kind of protected from the crazy storms and frost that we've been having.

    Tonight update.

    It looks way better than its clone that's in full sun with no protection from mother nature. I'll try to get pics tomorrow or Saturday.

    Bought a nice little Shishigashira in early June and planted it right away. It decided to display some surprising growth in the last few weeks! About 12" on all branch tips. The growth pattern is much different from the rest of the plant. Is this growth spurt to be expected after transplanting a young tree?

    Good morning and welcome to the maples forum, that looks a lovely healthy specimen you have there. It should slow down over the coming few weeks. So no feeds if your tempted, as this will create soft new growth in September which you do not want.

    It stayed green until a few days ago, then turned to the best colours in the past two or three years in a couple of days. November 7th, and November 13th :
