I have been observing this cultivar (Esveld's introduction if I remenber well) and I can share some impressions. Overall is a rather interesting one. It is dark red in early spring as shown in first pic. Then it darkens a bit, second pic taken in May. As summer progresses it greens out slowly but keeping a lot of red hues which gives the plant an ever changing look. Pic 3 was taken at the end of the Summer. Finally the Fall colors are and interesting combination of many hues, again changing continuously. The last two pics show that. Gomero
Hey Gomero Tree looks cool. I like the color. i wish I had more time to chat with you when you came to visit. During the maple tour. I started my maple list for the spring. I am up to 10 different cultivars. Mike
Hi Mike, I enjoyed very much the visit to your place but we were too numerous and time short for you to talk to everyone. Gomero
Since there has been no posts here since 2006 I will start to post some more regular updates on this cultivar, it seems not many have it? Picked up my small 2 year graft yesterday and I'm rather looking forward to finding out more about it!
