Hello! I'm new here, from Spain. I've decided to create an account in this forum today. I hope to learn and show my knowledges. I want to show us some pictures of this Acer palmatum. Spoiler: Pictures This maple grew up normal the last year. A branch appeared (picture 2) with leafs and I didn't apreciate it. Now, this maple sprouds (picture 1) only in the rare branch and I see that isn't normal. Leafs appear compacted, I saw that buds in that wrinked branch are strange, three buds (picture 3). I would like to know if this is normal. If not, is it a mutation? The maple is healthy, it hasn't sprout completely yet. This year would be the second year with anomaly. I will show all process this weeks and sorry if you don't understand for my english. Regards!
Hi Aciron, this could well be a mutation from stress from previous Summer, but it could return to normal growth next year after careful watering this Spring and Summer. It is hard to say without seeing 2019 photo. An interesting tree whatever way it goes.
I'm looking for photos but I think that they were deleted. Last year, the maple hadn't water stress or hot. Anyways, this maple have to sprout other branches yet. If I don't find photos from 2019, I will take photos this year. So we will be able to compare with next year 2021. I'll keep you posted. Regards.
Hi Aciron, very pretty markings to outer edges. Healthy new buds as well. And of course nice picture of your thumb!!!! Lol
