Photo from April 6, 2006. My first year with this small graft. Was reported to be late in leafing out, but it was earlier than my other cultivars by at least 2 weeks
It is listed in the Book for Maples: Introduced in 1978. The early spring foliage is brown, turning green from the vein area. The summer leaves are green turning deep red in Autum Gomero
a couple days later the color looks good. The leaves have a nice solid orange color which is different than many of the katsura type trees.
I bought this cultivar this spring after seeing it last year and noting the great spring color. Mine is much more pink/red, more like a Corallinum than Katsura.
@LoverOfMaples It got left behind when I moved 8 years ago. I checked in on the old place last summer. It was still there. A little ragged. I am sure I could collect scion and graft it... ;)
