I created the miniature landscape using a 'Mikawa yatsubusa' (center) and 3 seedlings of 'Mikawa yatsubusa'. A variety of dwarf perennials were used as ground cover (sedums, ferns, hosta, moss, and Sempervivum). The large stone was purchased from The Rock Pile in Avon, OH and turned into a planter for this miniature landscape scene. Very Inspriing!!! Great Combination!!! I am getting ready to fill a 2x4ft bed that i cleared with something similar with a couple of rocks and trees. This will give me something to shoot for!
I built a table for my landscape and added some rocks around it. I replaced the center tree with one that is comparable to the other two. Also, I created a new tray landscape. Very nice!!! I love the tray in the first picture - where did you get it? I would like to do a landscape too, and I think that tray would be about perfect to show off a mame satsuki azalea and/or jm forest...
I built the table and tray out of cedar this past spring. Home depot sells 2"x2". The whole tray is made up of them. I felt it needed something so I threw it together before our garden tour. It took me about an hour to make it. Its a nice way to get the arrangement off the table surface allowing the roots and the table to breath. I am glad you like it!
Very interesting. I planted mine next to the terrace, right next to where we eat, and it is just great to see--thriving, too.
Thank you! The parent tree is in my landscape in view of my patio and I agree, it’s a great view and a tree with interesting growth habit and texture. So interesting, that I decided to try seedlings as bonsai. I am very happy with this tree both in the landscape and as material for bonsai. It’s so easy to grow too!
