July 13th 2020, my Geisha is now making a lot of new growth. Solid pink leaves on the second flush atm. These will not normally turn to the varigation expected with this cultivar.
If you want various more subtle colours in your garden then Geisha during Summer gives you that. Photo today 26th July 2020
11th August 2020 and the heatwave continues, trying to update as many as I can as requested, even if they are not looking too good. Important to do this I feel. Two weeks on since my last posting.. My Geisha is holding it's colours pretty well in the circumstances. Little bit of scorch here and there, but to be expected.
22nd August 2020 and the colours go on and on. New shoots appearing everywhere!!!!! It loved the rain this morning as did many others.
4th September 2020 and the days seem to be getting shorter and shorter, which is a bit too fast for me. Busy time of the year in the garden for us maple growers, with less daylight !!! A morning with no dew or rain, but colours now popping up everywhere!! Deserved a couple of close ups today IMO.
27th September 2020 and bright Autumnal sunshine brings the best out of maple leaves. A contorting Geisha has to be photographed!!!
2nd October 2020 and the sun shone on my Geisha with rain drops on the lovely red branches, so I thought would be ideal to show how pretty this cultivar looks and not just the leaves.
20th October 2020 and everything is moving along now. Colours emerging every day. Geisha is one that holds this very well.
30th October 2020 and down to the last few leaves on my Geisha, but what lovely leaves they are. I do enjoy closeups of leaves as that is my interest. Every maple in my collection is different when viewed closely. From a distance it is easy to just say" that's red or that's orange", etc etc.
4th November 2020 and the first frost of this Autumn has arrived, so with the few left that have got leaves in my garden, here is my Geisha standing proud in the cold.
18th May 2021 and my first showing of my Geisha for this year. It has been the slowest start to a Spring I have ever known, but the leaves are here now.
3rd June 2021 and my Geisha is a lovely mellow pink. I have been comparing it to Pink passion that was posted a few days ago. And IMO mine is definatly not so bright.
1st July 2021, a month on for my Geisha and it's having a good Summer. Lots of new growth which is very pleasing.
14th June 2022 and my Geisha in full sun from morning to night. So this is one variegated maple that @acernoob might like to consider.
3rd June 2023 and after some talk on the other thread about Geisha, Geisha gone wild and Shirazz, I thought I would post a couple of photos from this morning of my Geisha.
