Acer palmatum 'Diana'

    This cultivar has been introduce by Dick Van der Maat and named after one of his daughters.
    I added to my collection in 2005 (see first pic) and planted it in a very large pot. It has been one of the best performers this year easily tripling in size and has had 3 growth periods, the only one in my collection with such a behaviour this year.
    The second pic was taken end of March, the third mid April, the fourth end of July, the fifth and sixth end September. The last pic shows the summer green leaf which is palmate, coarsely serrated and size 4x3 cm , quite small.
    To me it has a distinct personality and looks quite different from the cultivars I know. The leaves go through attractive changes as season progresses.
