This is a large-leafed cultivar with striking chartreuse veins.

This photo was taken today (May 7, 2007) and shows this large-leafed cultivar with each leaf being a slightly different color and shape from all others. Some leaves appear almost deformed. The consistency lies in the bright green veins on all leaves.

Great color contrast between bark and leaves.

Just picked this little one up from a local garden center, I think grown by Buchholz. This might just be my favorite red AP that I have. Photos taken just a few days ago.

Two of my pets, Beni gasa in fall color next to the beautiful Abby. I never appreciated this tree. It has a terrible graft union, and it has been stuck in that pot for too long. The colors in spring are subtle and it never seemed to stand out, and young trees are often shy on fall color down here. So it took a while to grow on me, and now I love it.

Agree with Luke, a beautiful tree. You might get away with a slip pot now or wait for a full re pot and root trim next early Spring.
