Medium upright tree to 20 feet or more depending on climate and culture. Very strong grower and hardy. Leaves slightly larger but not as deepely cut as A. j. Aconitifolium. Strong orange and red fall colors.
Wow only two have posted here. Well I guess it's my turn. Just a min ago I took these. Gonna try this one in full sun this year to see how it does. It's also blooming lots of flowers. More pic coming later. Maybe it and the mikawa next to it will mix.
I wonder D if it's because it is so similar to Aconitifolium, although the leaves are slightly larger. Do you have both? Is that your opinion?. I've tagged this thread to watch yours progress throughout the year and especially as you are going to give it a lot of sun. Looking pretty good already D.
Update: seem to be healing and growing well after the borer larvae was removed last year. Can't wait to see fall colors.
My experience (limited to 3years with this one) is that Attaryi leaves are substantially larger than Aconitifolium..at least 50% bigger..also the fingers of the leaves appear fatter..will see how it grows out. So far Aconitifolium appears to be a much faster grower. Here are a couple of Autumn photos as requested above.
