    Hello Acerlovers!

I am working in a plantshop in Sweden and for the moment studying the plants I am going to sell during spring 2007. I found this website just a few weks ago, and I hope nice people in this forum can give me some answer about different types of Acer.

Ok, well my first question: Whats the main difference between Acer davidii ssp. grosseri var. hersii and Acer grosseri hersii, or is it nearly the same? (I havent seen them both for real.)

    Best regards
    David S

There are some differences between A. davidii ssp grosseri and A. davidii ssp grosseri var. hersii.
According to Beaulieu's book, these differences in the shape and size of the leaves are minor and the consensus seems to be to consider the two plants identical.
Of course you may still find many people who disagree on this and continue to regard them as different.
