Acer discolor

    They really aren't showing much color at all for us this year. I think when they freeze in spring, and have to start again, autumn color is often muted.

    Should we change the thread title to Acer aff. paxii, I wonder?

    Well, if that's the "accepted nomenclature", why not.
    That would mean changing the name on dozens of my archived pictures, but science above all ! ;-)

    One year later:

    Pale green to pale pink.

    Very short lobes at the base, because of the heat and drought ?
    Probably must be pruned and repotted next year...
