I was surprised to see that this has the name Acanthus mollis Latifolius Group, as now I don't know how to distinguish A. mollis from A. spinosus. I had a story, based on my postings of A. spinosus, that that one had deeper leaf sinuses and more spines, including on the leaf margins, but this A. mollis Latifolius Group fits that description too. I see one page, "Acanthus for comparison - Dorset Perennials, that says, for A. mollis Latifolius Group, "This variant on Acanthus mollis is denser and squatter than the type". For A. spinosus, it only says " This species has deeply divided glossy dark green leaves" but then goes on to talk about a cultivar. I need a new story.
