The following was received via email:

I was planning to include an acacia baileyana purpurea into my garden
when my sister counselled that this was not the plant to have in the
house of possible allergics -as my son and daughter are thought to be.
She also told me that there are lots of types of acacia, both male and
    female, with different characteristics.
Is there any of such tree with no flowers? All of them (male and female)
    flower?
The other option I've thought of is planting a camphor tree...
Please, be so kind as to ignore misspellings... Engish is not my mother
tongue. I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Thanks in advance for your time,
    Sincerely,
    María

    Hello María,

I am not sure about the allergenic properties of the acacias. Hopefully someone has info on that. I don't know what the climate is like in Buenos Aires, but camphor trees have the potential to be invasive in warm areas, so you may want to check with local nurseries, botanical groups or government agencies on that.

Acacia is insect-pollinated, so is unlikely to cause pollen allergy, if that is what is at question.
