    This 5 needle pinus has me stumped
    By memory
    P sylvestris
    & nigra have 2 needles?


    P strobus perhaps?

    Probably Pinus reflexa (syn. Pinus strobiformis sensu Sudw., non Engelm.), though I'd like to see a mature seed cone to be sure.

    Yes! I'd sure like to see a mature seed cone. Ive been waiting years for cones on my five needle pines. I chose them for the potential of getting pine nuts. Grew some from seed and some from seedlings. I've come to the realization that I'm going to be fertilizer before I see any seeds. Shoulda got interesed in my twenties. Sigh.
