Hello, I have (had) a 14' ponytail palm that I inherited after my father passed. I dug it out of the ground and moved it to a large rubber trough. It has done very well for about 3 years until we experienced a hard freeze this past winter. I read previous posts to lop off the head and wait to see if it will come back. I cut about 4' off but nothing until last month. I am posting a picture of what it now looks like and hoping to get some help on how to keep Big Bertha (her name) healthy. Should I cut her back closer to the trunk where the new shoots are coming up?

I dont think any more new shoots will come of her any higher, so if it is an eye sore cut her back closer to the new shoots
