Please help identify this tree...

    Hi! This tree has been an enigma for me and everyone I know. I am posting a picture of it in bloom, with unripe fruit and ripe fruit on it. I don't know if the fruit is edible or what kind of tree this is. Please help!

    One of the fringe trees (Chionanthus), I think.

    Yes this is a fringe tree. Very sweet smelling fringy flowers especially when there lots of the flowers.
