Fidalgo Island WA, USA A tree with catkins

    I captured this youngun right next to Campbell Lake off Hwy20 on Fidalgo Island. It's growing right next to a small stand of vine maples. Captured this May 18 2022.

    Most likely Sitka willow; the triangular leaves are of course black cottonwood.

    Oh!!! Ok!! Thank you. I didn't even notice the triangular leaves were that different!! Most cool. I thought they were the same tree. *smacks forehead* They're growing altogether in the same spot! squee. 2 trees for the price of one!!
