I think at least some of these are native to the Whistler area, but not sure what they are. Anyone know??

Interested in planting more native plants in my friend's yard up there.

Also, any suggestions regarding good dwarf full sun conifers, and shrubs for a shady area under doug firs / cedars (as well as creeping groundcovers to go between stepping stones as a lawn substitute in same shady area) and would be welcome! I thought the larger of these two in the photos, plus salmonberry and thimbleberry would be nice for screening in the shady back yard.

    Thanks!

The second one might be a Sorbaria species.

Added another photo of the second one. And a closeup of the leaves. It's got a very woody base. Serrated pinnate leaflets. Seems to be about 17 leaflets per leaf.

Sambucus racemosa has a lot less leaflets.
