freesia?

    I would like to know if the plant is a freesia and what kind? Does anyone recognize it? If you need more detailed pictures to identify it, let me know. Thanks

    i did some research and i dont think its a freesia.
    it would be helpful if you took a close up picture showing the front of the flower. i think its some kind of lily but i cant be sure.

    Looks more like Crocosmia. Used to be known as Montbretia

    thanks for the replies- a search for crocosmia, common name montbretia, led to the discovery that the plant is
    a cultivar: Jackanapes, see www.floridata.com/ref/C/croc_xcr.cfm -
    the description and the listed pictures match with my plant. Thanks for your help.

    Yep, Crocosmia. Note: can be invasive.

    invasive yes, but I have always plants to give away as gifts or use them for trading now that I know what it is- this forum is just wonderful
