Living in Delaware, USA I have noticed these objects that drop out of a certain tree in Autumn and I have always wondered what they are and what type of tree they come from? The (I will call them fruit) are yellow/green and closely resemble brains. They have a citrus smell to them. I have attached pictures of the "fruit."
Does anyone have an idea what I am seeing?
    Thanks,
    Kim

Thank you so much for your quick answer! I think at one time I knew the name because once I read the name it was familiar to me. Well, you know what the ravages of time does to some memory.
    Thanks again!

I just got back from visiting my inlaws in Texas Dallas/Fort Worth.
I asked my Father-in-law the same Question.
Pops tells me they are called Horse Apples there.
    Weird arn't they!!
He said they have no use at all exept to give a pain in the head when they fall unexpectedly.
But they do make a great conversation peice for us visiters.
Wow I'm happy someone other then me saw these things.
