I left my plants under my sister's care for a week and I come back and they're all rotting... I guess she's an over-waterer :(.... Either that or my re-potting caused some major damage (could it have caused rot?). One of my beloved madagascar palms is a victim, and his base is all soft and he is tipping over. Can I cut him off at the source, dry him out, and attempt to re-root? Any other things I might try?

    Thank you very much!
