    There are specialty nurseries that stock these plants and will sell them via mail order. Most of my collection was obtained this way. You can check in the "Caudiciform and Pachycaul Trees Resources on the Web" found towards the top of the main forum page.

    Many of these plants will be kept in containers so that they may be moved indoors during the cool weather. A few of these plants are more cold tolerant and will do fine growing in the ground in Alabama.

    Other than the "Ponytail Palm" (Beaucarnea) and "Desert Rose" (Adenium), the vast majority of these plants you will never see at your local nursery center.
