Just a quick trip to the garden last Sunday after Douglas Justice's cherry walk. At the cherry grove next to the parking lot, we were delighted by these Lamium purpureum and Fritillaria meleagris underfoot. I got the ID for the lamium from a posting in the Plants Identification forum. Thanks, @Daniela N and @ariani.

The Magnolia sprengeri 'Copeland Court' was a knock-out on Sunday.

While we were being careful to not tread on the lamium or fritillaria, we were definitely trampling the chickweed, Stellaria media. There are lots of hairy bits on this plant, very cute. I meant to taste it on my way out, but I forgot. I'll probably have lots more opportunity to do that. This doesn't look like it's going anywhere soon.
