    Picea orientalis 'Tom Thumb Gold'

Picture shows the new Spring growth. Very slow growing (up to 1" or .5cm a year under the best conditions), yellow color intensifies in winter. Prefers shade from afternoon sun in most climates. Mine is grown in morning sun, with filtered early afternoon sun, then by mid-afternoon shade.

For more information on the history, growth rate, and site requirements; I recommend that you check out http://www.coenosium.com/PlantofTheMonth/tomthumbgold.htm
