    HI every one,

I have just joined the group and am looking for help in identifying and eradicating a nasty looking fungus which has infected my laurel tree. I have attached a few photos.
I live in Southern Spain, just outside Malaga. I have owned the house for almost 15 years and not had any problems with any of my plants and trees (mostly oranges, avocados and lemons) This one example sits on its own in front to the house, is regularly watered and pruned. In the last couple of months it has developed the fungus) assuming it is a fungus !

Any help in identifying with a view to eradicating the disease would be appreciated, thank you.

    Brian.

Looks very much like woolly aphid (Eriosoma spp.). What I do is brush them out with an old paint brush dipped in water and detergent. I then spray Neem as a (mild) repellent. You need to be constantly vigilant as you never get them all!
