I can't make a theme out of these, both in the North garden. The Physic Garden looks and smells wonderful right now. Right near the entrance is this Angelica archangelica, with its pale yellow flowers and purple stems.

In the Carolinian Garden, this is the first I've seen flowers on Ptelea trifoliata. They seem to either have four petals or five petals. The flowers are about 1cm in diameter. You can see the samara fruits as well, maybe a quarter of their eventual size.
