    Hello,

Please help! My Jade keeps losing leaves :( on one of the leaves that fell off, I happens to notice there were brown spots. I have transplanted it into some succulent soil and into a terracotta pot. I have also placed it into a sunnier location. I have read to only water it when the soil is dry. But the soil seems to go dry every 2-3 days. I don't want to keep over watering, but I don't want to under water either. How often should I water? Also, with us approaching winter, am I supposed to water even less?

A jade will definitely need less water when there's less light. And putting it in the sunniest window you have is a good idea. Here's an easy way to tell if a jade needs water: gently press a leaf between your thumb and forefinger. If it feels hard, it's fine. If it feels squishy, water it. In time you should be able to tell visually as well. When the water content of the leaves becomes less, the leaves will take on a very slightly wrinkled look. That's the time to water.
