I have had good success with bringing in my hibiscus each year be for the first frost here in So. Illinois. This year I have a very heavy pot 14x15. Can I successfully cut the root ball in half. If not I plan to take it out and very carefully wash a lot of the soil and then re-pot it so it is not so heavy.
I am glad I logged on today I did not know about hibiscus seeds are they in the flower that drop off? I am looking forward to feed back.
    Thanks,
    GENE

With Hibiscus I have been told that you can cut the roots.

The seeds are in the bottom where the flower has droped off, however, the flower has to be pollinated. You take the yellow power and brush on the stamen ( 4 pads that protrude out). Then after 40 days, the pod is supposed to burn brown bursting with seeds. I'm trying the self pollination (same flower) but have been told you need pollen from another plants flower..
The pods are very very easy to break off...I've had two break off for no reason before pollination.
