I live in Minnesota and I am up to 10 hibiscus plants in my house. I nurse them all winter (and they produce beautiful flowers in the winter for me) and return them to the porch in the summer. I have been doing this for 3 or 4 years. Well...last week end I decided to re pot ALL of them and shook their roots off. They look as though they are dying now...did I kill them or is there anything to do to nurse them back.

Hibiscus can be a bit fussy about change, but they should not look like they are dying. After repotting they would need a good watering and should be kept out of direct sunlight for a few days to recover. They like humidity. Houses usually have drier air than they like, especially in winter with heat on. You would not want to add any fertilizer until the plants had adjusted to their new pots.
