Identification: giant mushroom

    Wow! I can't tell if this mushroom has gills on its underside or not. Gills would make it look like a huge Pleurotus but it could also be many other things. I'm sure your local mycology/mushroom club or Botany department of nearest University would have more information on this particular find.

    If it has no gills I was thinking it looks also like a huge Albatrellus: I've found really big ones before here, but admittedly not that big :-).

    Amazing things this planet produces! Thanks for sharing that.
