    Hello,

I would like to repot two ponytail palms that are currently in their original container. I got them this way from a friend 5 years ago. There is a larger one (root looks to be about 7cm in diameter) and a tiny one (root looks to be about 3 cm in diameter) and they are growing side by side - touching. They have outgrown the pot and it is now stretched and cracked.

Should I attempt to separate them?

If so, how should I do it?

What can I expect if I do?

Thank you very much for your consideration!
