Having survived a long hard winter one of my few surviving Red Cordylines has stared to sprout new shoots from its base just under the soil. Can these shoots be taken off to produce a new plant and how would I do this ?
Theoretically, yes. You'll want to wait until the shoots have 2-3 new leaves each, and then you can simply cut them off just below the soil line and plant them where you want them. They'll root up in about 2 weeks.
I don't know much about cordylines, but thinking if you are having the same cool summer in England as we are here in BC, you might need to root them in pots indoors.
