I bought a Christmas tree with a dirt ball last year. I had done that before in Atlanta, but here in Knoxville it is really growing!

When it is right to trim the tree's branches to shape it?

    Thanks to all in advance,

    Grainger

Generally, most christmas trees are trimmed around June to early July while the new growth shutes are still soft thus, making the job easier.

    Here's some info:

Best not pruned at all, except to remove dead wood or a forked trunk. Trimming it will spoil the natural symmetry of the branching.

    Thanks for both opinions.
